Here’s a quick look at Clare’s balance beam routine for this season. Competing at the Intermediate Optional level in AAU for the first time, she gets to make up her own routines on the events and pick her music for her floor exercise.

Even though it was only an intrasquad meet, she finished with 2 firsts, 1 second, and 1 third place finish in the four events. This was a good enough effort for her to earn 1st place in the all-around (although not according to my calculations, but hey, I’m only a spectator/parent).
