Seems like everything is over. Finally, there’s a bit of a lull at the Schommer household. To wit:
The girls’ birthdays are over. Happy birthday again (x2) to las chicas. Now that both girls have officially moved into the teen years, I hope you’ll pray for us. Good times ahead, to be sure. I’ve included one solitary picture from the party. More can be found HERE.
And our anniversary is over. We celebrated our nineteenth over dinner at Paisan’s in Madison. Wow, has that place every upgraded from when it was on campus. Now it’s off the square with a great view of Lake Monona – glad we waited (on a Tuesday night!) for a lake view table. Will definitely be back when the weather warms a bit to take advantage of their outdoor seating.
Mother’s Day is also over. Happy belated Mother’s Day to all you mothers reading this. (That doesn’t sound as sincere as it is meant.) We celebrated the day by putting mother Monica to work planting 3 hydrangeas on the north side of the house/garage. (No grief allowed: I dug the holes and Clare and I mixed the potting soil. She held the plant while we filled in.) Finally, something to take up space over there. They pretty much look like sticks now, but I’m confident they will flourish in their dirt/compost/manure/coffee grounds/sand mixture.
But golf league just started! And biking season is just getting underway! And Monica will be heading back to school to add to her certifications! And we’re heading out west later this summer! And Hannah is working for the city again! And then gymnastics and volleyball camps for the girls!
OK, so not everything is over. Some things are just beginning…
