More BB for HKS

Another Saturday, another basketball tournament for Hannah. This weekend it was at Portage for a round-robin style tournament. Everyone plays three games over the course of a day. You play the other two teams in your pool of three, then each team plays their like-finishing team in the other pool.

The Marshall 8th grade girls played tough out of the gate in game 1 against Poynette, led at half-time, but a slow start in the second half did them in. Game 2 against Waupaca was ugly. The first half was forgettable and hole they dug themselves was insurmountable by the second half. Game 3 pitted us against the third place team (Evansville) in the other pool. A very evenly-matched game, back and forth throughout, but we came out on short end once again.

The major downers for the day were the two injuries in game three. Hannah banged her knee hard on something and Melanie’s head took a hard shot to the floor. Hannah will recover soon, and Melanie will hopefully also return to action quickly.

All players were introduced at the conclusion of their final game and awarded medals (nice touch).

We’ve seen enough game play in previous posts, so here are a few lighter moments:

I'm so precious
