Just playin’

The mantra of any good blog is to just keep posting. Anything. Keep your readers coming back. Of course, one should make it at least a little entertaining. To that end, I figured a little techie bit couldn’t hurt.

Lately I’ve been playing around a bit with some photo editing software, Adobe Photoshop Elements, just to see what it can do. It’s not the full blown Photoshop, just a poor-man’s version that hopefully is simpler to use. It came in a combo pack with Premiere Elements (video editing software), so I figured it was time to try it out.

The samples below show how you can isolate part of an image and make the rest black and white. Cool, my first project! Check it out:

BEFORE AFTER

I know folks who can’t look at a photo without wanting to tweak it a little. “Oooh, just a little sharper, and maybe make the red ‘pop’ a bit, and get rid of the red-eye.” I don’t want to be one of those people. But I do like playing around with this kind of stuff. Let’s hope I can find a happy medium.

The Fairness Doctrine is alive and well in our house:

I fear this is the kind of thing where you need to keep doing it in order to improve and keep it top of mind.

Beware of more photo blog posts…
