It seems a right of passage for eighth graders that they design, create, detail, and race a model car that was once a block of wood. Hannah completed this task a few months ago in her Tech Ed class and I thought I’d post a picture of the car.
She finished hers earlier than most, so she was able to set the bar for her classmates. Truth be told, it wasn’t a high bar. The car is aerodynamic, but it’s also pretty heavy.
I remember when I built my car in what was called Industrial Arts. It didn’t fare much better than Hannah’s, but it was a fun exercise. Our teacher built and raced a car that I recall looked mostly like a toothpick. It FLEW down the makeshift track along the wire and busted into a hundred pieces when it hit the wall. Ahh, the memories.
