Wisconsin hosts Iowa

Can I tell you how much I enjoy our Dish DVR? The Wisconsin vs. Iowa game is on tonight and I set up the DVR to record the game. We ate a little late tonight, missing the start of the game. After cleaning up, I began watching the game and was able to blow through the commercials and catch up to “live” TV by the beginning of the third quarter. What a concept! Use my time as I like but still watch the entire game in less time. Love it!

The only thing that would be better would be for Dish to offer local programming in HD. I had to watch the recorded part in “regular” programming. Ugh. Was able to switch to over-the-air HDTV for the second half. Ahhhh.

10:12 p.m. – Iowa just kicked a field goal to bring them within 1 point midway through the fourth quarter.

Thanks to Gini for the beers consumed this evening; Stella Artois from Belgium. Never had them before, but I will definitely purchase in the future. Yummy.

10:29 p.m. – Wisconsin answers with a field goal to go up by 4 with just over 2 minutes remaining in the game.

What is that stupid pig they’re playing for tonight? It’s officially known as the Heartland Trophy. I guess they had to think of something for these two teams to play for. They play every year and there wasn’t a long-standing trophy – like Paul Bunyan’s axe with Minnesota. Whatever. Put our name on the pig for 2007.

10:40 p.m. – Wisconsin takes a knee in victory. Woohoo!
