(I knew I’d find some useless add-in to put in this site…)
You may have noticed that certain web sites have tiny images displayed to the left of their URL in the address bar of your browser. These are customizable (search for favicon if you want to know more).
I figured there would be a way add one to a WordPress blog. Indeed, the power of Google returned several answers to my query. I added the add-in to the blog to allow me to do this.
Have you looked up at your address bar yet? If it’s working for you you’ll see me as a character from the Simpson’s!
Lame, I know, but handy.
Here it is in its full-size glory. How’d I do? Probably should have made the hair a little grayer. Make one of yourself at http://www.simpsonizeme.com. It was part of a Burger King promotion for the Simpson’s movie that came out this summer. Didn’t see it. Yet.
Why would you do this? Because you can. I think the real question is why not?
Seriously though, my Simpson’s mug won’t stay on the address bar too long. I’ll switch it out for something more appropriate in the coming weeks. A cool site that will make a favicon file out of any picture can be found at http://www.chami.com/html-kit/services/favicon/.
