Tough games last night as the Marshall eighth grade girls volleyball team hosted Deerfield in what proved to be a drubbing by the visitors.
Deerfield had a girl who was using a jump serve. In 8th grade! Not a particularly hard hit ball, but it looked very impressive to everyone in attendance. I think it was pretty intimidating to the Marshall girls who had a hard time getting a bead on the ball.
The final game was the closest of the four, but Marshall still came up short while playing aggressively. We’ll try to steal one when we go their place in the coming weeks.
